Q: How many weddings have you photographed?
A: I’ve had the privilege of photographing over 250 weddings in my 9 years in the industry! I photographed my first wedding at 18 (Thanks Sharon and Ed!!)
Q: What time will you arrive on our day?
A: I generally show up 15 to 30 minutes before our official start time. I like to get myself acquainted with the layout of the venue if I haven’t been there before (ask me about venue walkthroughs!), plus it helps me get to know your family and friends without immediately shoving a camera in their faces.
Q: Why is wedding photography so expensive?
A: I love this question - while it seems like all we do is show up and take photos for 8 hours, there’s so much involved before, during, and after your day. My average time investment from start to finish with a client is about 40-50 hours - from emailing, to phone calls and meetings, to your engagement session, to editing your engagement session, to a venue walkthrough and another meeting, then your actual wedding day, then the many, many hours spent editing those photos. Lots of blood, sweat, and tears go into making sure your wedding photos are perfect - they end up being the final memories from your day!
Q: Do you have any past client reviews?
Q: DO YOU HAVE A LIST OF PREFERRED VENDORS TO USE?
A: Yes! I’d love to share them with you. I highly recommend Fleurs Dumois for flowers, Claire from We Wed Well for planning/coordination, Endless Wave Studios and Wellspun for video, Essie Cohen for makeup, and Britt Bridal Hair for, well, hair.
Q: WE’RE HAVING A DESTINATION WEDDING. DO YOU TRAVEL?
A: Yes! I love destination weddings and have been lucky enough to travel all over shooting weddings. Send over more information on your travel plans, and I will create a custom wedding collection to suit your needs.
Q: When do we receive our images?
A: Within 2-3 days of the wedding I’ll send you over about 50-75 teasers that you can post ASAP. Then it usually takes me about 4-6 weeks to send over the gallery!
Q: What kind of gear do you use?
A: I use the latest camera equipment from Canon - the Mark IV, the Mark III, prime lenses (my sweet spot is shooting at 1.4 to make the background gorgeously out of focus), and Profoto flashes. I always make sure to have backups of everything (including memory cards) and so do my second shooters.
Q: do you only do weddings?
A: My main focus is certainly weddings, but I also offer family and portrait sessions. I’ve found that doing a few different facets of photography keeps my creativity flowing!
Q: HOW DO WE RESERVE OUR WEDDING DATE?
A: A $1000 deposit and signed contract is required in order to get your wedding day on the calendar. I offer payment plans to help spread out the cost, and then the balance is due the date of the wedding.
Q: WE LOVE YOUR WORK, BUT WHAT IF YOU’RE OUT OF BUDGET?
A: Just talk to me! I don’t like turning people away because of cost. If you are transparent about your budget, we can try to make it work, and if not, I have many fantastic referrals I can send you.
